Ryan's dad took us out for dinner tonight at
The Brick Oven and near the end of the meal a balloon artist asked if he could make the girls something. Hanna chose a horse and Grace wanted Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Hanna's horse was pretty awesome but Ariel exceeded my balloon art expectations. The girls couldn't stop giggling when they saw Ariel's bosoms. It reminded of a story Monti told me about a family he knew on his mission. Apparently they didn't watch The Little Mermaid because her seashell bra was too revealing. He served his mission in Utah so I got the impression that all Utahns were psycho. Yet I still chose to go to school here and then ultimately live here. Who'd have thunk? Anyway, Kristin was here last week and she told me that there were people in her branch in Missouri that also objected to The Little Mermaid's lack of modesty. Then she told me a story that is still making me laugh. Sophie (Kristin's 3 year old daughter) had a friend over and this friend wanted to take the animated movie
Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron home to watch. The mother said no because "the values of Spirit are not our values." Maybe they didn't like that the horses were naked.
Naked horse and scantily clad mermaid together at last.

That is a pretty sweet mermaid! The horse is cool tot. That guy must have gone to an ivy league clown college.
Yeah, my mission president also told us not to watch that movie b/c "the seashells were too small". He was definitely a guy with some serious sexual hang-ups. He would tell us how his wife was "garden" and make all kinds of sexual innuendo that would make you really uncomfortable.
Maybe the mother didn't like the fact that a Native person and a horse were sticking it to the US Army instead of the other way around.
Love the kids balloons Shea- very impressive. Ariel does look pretty well endowed though - my kids love that movie and I've never notice the size of her shells. I'll have to check them out. lol!
Those are some awesome balloon creations! Hey what happened to Snoop Dog?
Becky
I took Snoop off. I wasn't feeling it anymore.
LOL. Sounds like a fun night out. That Little Mermaid is impressive.
I can't even laugh at stuff like that because it bugs me too much. Give me a break. Although there is the one part in the Little Mermaid where the priest gets aroused at the wedding ceremony. Ever seen it? It is one of those things that get added in by the artists because they think it's funny.
Luisa, this is what snopes.com said
